Request for Reasonable Accommodation

If your child requires an accommodation related to a disability, please review the information below about the accommodation process.

A person with a disability is someone who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities such as walking, seeing, hearing, etc. If you are uncertain whether your child needs an accommodation, please contact the Director of the Disability Resource Center (DRC). She will be able to provide you with guidance.

If you believe that your child may need a reasonable accommodation, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact Director of DRC
  2. DRC will notify you to schedule a Welcome Appointment to discuss the request.
  3. At the Welcome Appointment Meeting, DRC will advise of necessary documentation required and next steps.
  4. Complete Parent Request for Reasonable Accommodation Form and submit it to the Director of DRC.
  5. Once all documentation has been received and reviewed, the DRC will advise you as to whether the accommodation has been approved or denied.
  6. There may be other requirements that need to be completed by the Center and you depending on the requested accommodation.  The DRC will outline those requirements when the decision is communicated to you.
