Returning Room Selection
Steps for Returning Room Selection
Step 1: Submit your housing agreement at my.fiu.edu by February 10, 2017.
To be eligible for any part of the Room Selection Process, you must be a current housing resident with a complete 2016-2017 Housing Agreement. Additionally, you must have paid off any housing balances from previous semesters.
Step 2: See the options in person during the Residence Hall Tours on February 16th from 6PM to 7:30PM. The tours begin from Everglades Hall 150.
Step 3: Visit the Room Selection Simulation on the housing landing page at my.fiu.edu to learn how to select your room beginning February 7th.
Step 4: Receive your Room Selection instructions in Panther Mail. This will include important information needed for Room Selection including your appointment time.
Step 5: Assign yourself to a room through during one of the times listed below:
- Room Retention on February 20-22: You may choose to stay in your same room (if it is available). For example: if you live in Towers 215A and want to return to Towers 215A, you would make your selection at this time.
- Displaced Students Room selection On February 22-23: Students who are unable to select their room in Parkview, Towers, Everglades, University Apartments, or Lakeview North because it has been reserved for other purposes may select another room in their hall at this time.
- Roommate Pull-In on February 23-24: Residents who opted to stay in their same room or selected a room on displaced student days may pull-in their friends to be their roommates if there are spaces open in the room.
- General Room Selection on February 27-March 3: Most residents will fall into this category. Residents will be given an appointment to self-select their room for next year. Appointments will be made based on seniority, GPA and number of semesters on campus. You will also be able to pull in your friends to be your roommates in any empty spaces in the room you select during this process.
