    TSC Walk

    On this day, individuals and families affected by TSC will join together to increase awareness of tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) and share their stories of hope. Whether you are close to the disease or simply looking for an inspiring charity event, LIDS Step Forward to Cure TSC walkathon is a great way to experience the power of standing together and giving back to the community. 

    Panthermonium Concert

    Enter the Cage and Unleash the Spirit, the biggest live show is better than ever this year. The time is approaching, get ready to jump and roar as talented artists take the stage. The biggest show known to Florida International University drops on Sunday October 16th 2016 at 7 pm. Limited free student tickets available at the FIU One Card office.

    Blue & Gold: Unleashed

    Trail of the Torch

    This annual tradition is back by popular demand!     Get ready and dress to impress to celebrate that we are part of FIU at our much anticipated Homecoming Dance. The event will be held at the beautiful Biscayne Bay Campus and it will feature a fashion show organized by our own in-house fashion club Eclipse! Also, our beloved mascot Roary will make an appearance to hype up the dance floor and for pictures. Finally, a DJ will provide great music to get everyone in the dance having fun. Free food, drinks, and amazing giveaways will be provided.

  • Faculty / Staff Events

    Spirit Decorating Competition

    Submission Deadline: Friday, October 7
    Judging: October 11-14

    The university community is encouraged to "Unleash the Spirit" by decorating their work areas with Panther items and FIU Blue and Gold.

    We will have three (3) categories that will be judged separately:

    1. Gold Spirit - Entries comprised of more than one department, such as an entire college or division.
      (e.g. College of Education, Division of Human Resources)
    2. Blue Spirit - Individual departments or offices
      (e.g. Payroll, GC Event Planning Office)
    3. Door - This category will focus entirely on door decorations.

    All participants must complete the online registration and submit their area's pictures by Friday, October 7. Judging will take place the following week, starting on Tuesday, October 11, through Friday, October 9.

    Be sure to read and follow our safety guidelines. Departments who do not abide by the safety guidelines will be disqualified.

    Spirit Hashtag Competition

    Registration Deadline: Friday, October 7

    Join in on the fun during FIU's Homecoming by participating in the Spirit #Hashtag Competition! All faculty and staff are encouraged to show off their panther spirit via social media for an opportunity to win special prizes!

    The competition is underway, so please be sure to sign up no later than Friday, October 7. You must register your unit's hashtag to be considered for the competition. Click here to register.

    Once registered, use your hashtag to post, share, tweet and "selfie" your way through Homecoming festivities scheduled now through Saturday, October 22. The competition will end with the conclusion of the Homecoming game on Saturday, October 22. All registered participants will be notified after the competition.

    FIU Faculty/Staff Homecoming King & Queen

    Nomination Deadline: Friday, September 30

    Nominations are now open for the Second Annual FIU Faculty/Staff Homecoming King & Queen Competition! Cast your nominations today for your favorite faculty or staff member candidates. The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, September 30th.

    Once nominations close, the top 10 finalists will be announced in HR News & Campus Updates with further instruction on how to cast your final vote. Campaigning and voting for the top 10 finalists will take place from Thursday, October 6 to Friday, October 14.

    The FIU Faculty/Staff Homecoming King & Queen will be announced at this year's Panthers Got Talent Show - make sure to secure your seat for the royal crowning moment!

    Panther's Got Talent

    Submission Deadline: Friday, September 30

    You won't want to miss your chance to be amazed as our FIU students, faculty, staff and retirees take center stage at Panther's Got Talent! Join us for a night of fun and special performances by our talented FIU family on Thursday, October 20 at the FIU Arena (doors open at 5:30 pm). We will also be announcing the 2016 FIU Homecoming Faculty/Staff King & Queen at the event.

    The application deadline to perform is Wednesday, September 30. Space is limited for performances, so don't delay and register today!

    Solo performance: Registration Form
    Blue Division (teams consisting of 2-6 performers): Registration Form
    Gold Division (teams consisting of 7-20 performers): Registration Form

    There will be a winner for the best faculty, staff or retiree Panther performance.

    The Homecoming parade is the culmination of Panther Pride. Student organizations, departments, community organizations and local celebrities are all part of this great tradition. FIU friends and family are invited to attend on Saturday, October 22, 2016. Parade kicks off at 2:30 pm and we encourage you to stick around to cheer our Panthers onto victory against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs! Football tickets can be purchased at fiusports.com.

    The best way to start your FIU Homecoming experience is with the FIU Proud Parent and Family Brunch!  This event will include catered brunch, appearances by Roary the FIU mascot, FIU cheerleaders, give-a-ways, and other great entertainment. Our FIU President, Mark Rosenberg, will also be in attendance to meet your FIU Proud Family. Register for Parent and Family Day.

    Proud Parent and Family Association Meeting

    The Proud Parent and Family Association’s goal and mission are to actively engage our parents and family of FIU students to become a prevalent leadership team.  Our meeting on October 22 will include discussion on ways in which parents and families can support our students, ways that the council can reach out to other family members and to identify ways to remain involved with the university (events, programs, fundraising etc.).

    Game time! Watch as the FIU Panthers take on Louisiana Tech in a game that is sure to UNLEASH THE SPIRIT. Tickets to the FIU Homecoming football game will not be included in the Parent and Family Day registration. However, if you are excited about cheering on our Panthers on game day and want to buy tickets to the game, please purchase tickets.
