Handshake

We are excited to announce that FIU Career & Talent Development has partnered with Handshake - a modern career development platform - to replace our previous Panther JobLink Symplicity System and be your one-stop-shop for launching your career.

Handshake uses cutting edge technology to help our FIU students and alumni more easily connect with employers and source jobs and internships, event information, and On-Campus Recruiting opportunities.

Students and alumni will now be able to request appointments with our Career Coaches, while still accessing thousands of jobs and internships, and RSVP for our events and professional development opportunities.

Employers can use Handshake as a recruitment tool, to identify qualified candidates for open positions and manage on-campus recruitment activities.

How to Create an Employer Account in Handshake

Handshake Employer FAQs

  • What is Handshake?

Handshake is the fast and powerful new recruiting platform for recruiting FIU students and alumni.  It uses cutting edge technology to better connect you with qualified candidates.

Use Handshake to post job and internship listings, register for career fairs, manage on-campus recruiting, and message students and alumni who meet your qualifications. You will also be able to promote your brand more effectively by customizing your employer profile, job postings, and events to be more visually appealing to students.

  • Did Handshake replace Panther JOBLink?
Yes. As of July 1, 2017 the FIU Talent and Development Office has replaced Panther JOBLink with the Handshake platform. Multiple emails were sent to our registered employers requesting that they save any relevant history or documents from their Panther JOBLink accounts. After June 30, 2017 the Panther JOBLink system data is no longer available.
  • What do I need to register as an Employer?
To have your Employer account approved, you must provide a complete company address, a company phone number (please put under the "private," this is automatically hidden from students), and a contact name (not a postition title or department).
  • What if I need additional help using Handshake?
Handshake has a support site that should be able to help answer all of your questions! View it here. Of course, you're always welcome to call one of our three locations and ask for help, too.
