GC Computer Lab

The GC Computer Lab offers FIU students a pleasant environment for study groups to collaborate in class projects, as well as, quiet areas for individual work. Students have access to a variety of discipline-specific software for Windows and Macintosh. The GC lab staff provides students with very responsive and attentive assistance, one-on-one technical support and makes the GC Lab the students' number one choice.

The GC Computer Lab is committed to providing state-of-the-art computing resources, hardware, software, and knowledgeable staff, to help students excel in their academic endeavors.

The computer lab is open to currently registered students. Students will need to sign in and provide a valid Panther ID for entry. Food or drinks are not allowed inside the lab. 

Study Area

The GC Computer Lab offers two study rooms. One is equipped with a collaboration table which is designed for team learning - they are flexible in concept, allowing for physical movement around the table in addition to having multiple configurations for users sitting in different stations. A second room is available for quiet studying and offers 18 PCs.

Wireless Internet Access

All areas in the GC computer lab have wireless access for students to use their own laptop in our optimal environment. The lab staff will assist you in accessing the university's wireless system and will advise on the importance of Windows security updates and the active Antivirus program.

Technical Support

The GC Computer Lab staff provides technical support to the Graham Center Offices, Division of Academic & Student Affairs and students at large.

WUC Computer Lab

The Wolfe University Center Computer Lab has 21 computers (19 Windows 10 All-in-One PCs and 2 iMacs) for students to study, take online classes, and surf the internet. It is located next to the Game Room on the second floor in WUC 224. These computers all have high-speed internet connections, Microsoft Office 2016 and additional software. These computers are all connected to a high-capacity multi-function printer where students can print in monochrome (black & white). No color printing is available.

The Wolfe University Center Computer Lab currently offers the following printing and scanning services:

  • Print five pages per day in black & white for free with a valid Panther ID
  • Each additional page costs $0.12 in black & white.
  • Scanning services are available free of charge.

Policies and Procedures

All lab staff and students agree to follow the UTS Code of Computing Practice, Academic Affairs Policies & Procedures Manual and the FIU IT Security Policy. Those who fail to comply with the policies and procedures may be dismissed from the lab.
