Organization Registration

Registration Process

*Registration for CSO is rolling and may be completed at the pace of each organization. Groups who wish to receive recognition and funding must complete the registration process by the funding deadlines established by CSO.

New organizations

  1. Submit Organization Registration packet on Panther Connect by the funding deadline of each semester by 5pm to be eligible for funding and recognition by CSO. The registration packet is located on Panther Connect: Organizations-register an organization-register a new organization-Campus Life MMC.

    • The sample constitution can be found in CSO’s portal on Panther Connect.

 

Returning Organizations

  1. Submit Organization Registration packet on Panther Connect by the funding deadline of each semester by 5pm to be eligible for funding and recognition by CSO. The registration packet is located in the organization’s portal-manage-re-registration form.

 

Requirements for all student organizations:

  1. At least one member of the organization’s executive board must have attended Panther Connect training within the last academic year.
  2. Organizations must have their Panther Connect portal profile updated with Advisor, President, and Treasurer information.
  3. Attend Executive Board Orientation each semester.
  4. Must have a minimum of 10 currently enrolled FIU Student members with valid FIU student emails and Panther IDs, and at least 51% of the membership must be registered students at the MMC and/or Engineering Center. Only members with valid panther ID’s in the organization’s Panther Connect portal are counted toward the requirement.
  5. Organizations must have at minimum the following positions: President (must have cumulative 2.5 GPA), Treasurer, and CSO representative (the president and treasurer cannot be the same person).
  6. Must have an advisor who is a full-time faculty or staff member on the MMC or Engineering Center campus (graduate students and part time employees are not eligible). The advisor must complete yearly advisor’s training.
  7. Must have a functional organization constitution and/or bylaw. A constitution template is located on Panther Connect in the CSO portal for required sections in constitution.

 

Benefits of Registration

  1. Ability to reserve rooms on campus for the academic year (Fall and Spring/Summer).
  2. Access to Panther Connect and an Organization Panther Connect portal.
  3. Access to resources available in the Student Organization Resource Center.
  4. Access to university funding through the registration and recognition process when requirements are met.
