Fraternity and Sorority Life

On behalf of the FIU Greek Community, welcome to FIU!

The Fraternity and Sorority community at Florida International University consists of 26 fraternity and sorority chapters made up of over 1300 students. Each organization was founded on the values of scholarship, leadership, brotherhood/sisterhood, community service, and philanthropy. Our fraternity and sorority community boasts a diverse membership within four governing councils: the Interfraternity Council (IFC), the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and the Panhellenic Council (PC). Together, they raise thousands of dollars towards local and national philanthropies and complete numerous hours of community service. Additionally, our members engage in countless leadership positions throughout our campuses and take pride in excelling as scholars and critical thinkers in the classroom.

Are you interested in starting a new fraternity or sorority or restarting a formerly recognized organization at FIU? We welcome organizations that belong to one of the four governing councils that operate on our campuses (IFC, PC, NPHC, and MGC). Check out FIU's Expansion and Recognition Policy for information about how to apply for recognition.
