The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is looking for men that are up to the challenge of going against the status quo, that are passionate about giving back to their community, are engaged in academic coursework, and that have the desire to be a leader. IFC is looking for men who are up to living the values of our fraternities but are also not afraid to be themselves in the process. Our 11 chapters are constantly looking athletes, scholars, artists, researchers, leaders, and all around good men!

IFC has recruitment during the summer, fall, and spring semesters, but our chapters recruit 365 days a year! If you are interested in joining, come check out us at recruitment, at IMs, or one of our philanthropy events! We would love to meet you!

In order to be eligible for a man to be eligible for membership, he must be:

  • enrolled for a minimum of 9 credit hours in the fall and spring semesters OR 3 credit hours in the summer
  • Men must also have a minimum of a 2.7 if first semester freshman and a 2.5 if a current FIU student or are a transfer student. Individual chapters may have higher GPA requirements for membership.
  • There are no exceptions to these eligibility requirements.

All interested men MUST register for recruitment at

Once a bid is offered by a fraternity and is officially accepted by the potential new member, they become an associate member of the fraternity until initiation. As an associate member, a man is expected to complete IFC University (5 weeks of weekly new member classes), and must complete the FIU Greeks 101: New Member Workshop as part of the new member education process for their respective fraternity. We believe that Fraternal and FIU Values congruence is essential for meaning fraternal membership in our community.
