  • Agencies

    Agencies serve as administrative divisions of the Executive Branch, created to provide goods and/or services to the entire Student Body. The service shall be student oriented and shall be available for use by all students.

    Council for Student Organizations (CSO)
    The Council for Student Organizations oversees and represents all undergraduate clubs, graduate clubs, and Honor Societies. The CSO shall be responsible for allocating funds to each organization, providing a structure for funding, and providing leadership to its member organizations.

    Homecoming Council (HC)
    The Homecoming Council is made up of students who work with many organizations and departments on campus like Campus Life, Orientation & Parent Programs, Athletics and the Alumni Association to make this special week of events happen. Homecoming week consists of many exciting events including, Panther Prowl Comedy Show, Lip Sync / Talent Show, FIU Music Fest, King and Queen Court activities, Parade and the Panthermonium Game Day Concert and Tailgate.

    Student Programming Council (SPC)
    The Student Programming Council hosts over 70 events for FIU students and the community throughout the academic year. SPC provides cultural, educational, recreational, and social programs aimed at building unity and pride among all students.

    Black Student Union
    The Black Student Union at FIU welcomes students of all races to rejoice in African American programming that is reflective of our culture and history. BSU is not only dedicated to supporting students, but also motivating them to become involved and successful here at FIU. Providing a welcoming environment for students to achieve academic success, participate in community service and share in cultural and social programming is our mission.

    The Multi-faith Council is comprised of multiple religious organizations from different faith traditions. These organizations are devoted to their unique religions traditions, but together as a council, they serve the FIU community through a commitment to foster an atmosphere that both nurtures the intellectual dimensions of faith as well as encourage the spiritual dimensions of education.

    RHA strives to promote student development and student involvement; provide a means for improving the physical, educational, social and cultural standards of living in the residence halls; create passive and active programs allowing the residents to educate themselves as well as socialize; and to improve the living community on campus.

  • Intern Program
    The intern selection process consists of an application and an interview phase. It is highly recommend for you to take your time filling out this application so that all the answers provided are thoughtful and an accurate reflection of you.

    Prior to filling out this application, please note the qualifications for selection:
    • Must be currently enrolled as a full time degree-seeking student at FIU
    • Possess and maintain a semester and cumulative GPA of a 2.5 / 3.0 high school GPA for first semester freshmen
    • Display excellent leadership skills
    • Exhibit a strong commitment to the FIU SGA intern program
    • Be able to attend the weekly mandatory Intern Program Meetings that will take place Tuesday from 4:00-6:00pm as well as mandatory events (of which you will be notified in advance).
    Remember to submit your application by the deadline of September 4, 2018.
    By September 12th, you will be notified via e-mail whether or not you have been selected for the 2018-2019 SGA Intern Program.
