Dean of Students

Victim Empowerment Program

This program provides confidential assistance to FIU students who have been victimized through threatened or actual violence and support during the healing process. Staff will explain choices, help identify needs and options, accompany students who need medical services, help with safety planning, and much more.

Student Health Services

Student Health Services is here to keep you healthy while you focus on your studies at FIU. Student Health Services provides primary medical and specialty care tailored to the unique needs of college students. Common medical services include diagnosis and treatment of: acute illnesses; sexually transmitted infections; eating disorders; minor injuries; physical exams for sports, work or travel; chronic disease management (asthma, diabetes, hypertension); and assistance with prescription medications.

University Ombudsman

The University Ombudsman provides a forum for students to address and resolve student issues with faculty, staff, departments, or programs. The University Ombudsman can be the first resource when a student does not know where to get information for a particular situation; or as a last resort, when normal channels of communication have failed to bring resolution to a difficulty.

Student Food Pantry

The Student Food Pantry is an initiative to address the prevalence of food insecurity on campus. This project assists students who are experiencing financial difficulty to purchase groceries. No proof of need is required and students can access the pantry once a week.

Switchboard 211  

Switchboard 211 is a free, 24-hour human services helpline that provides free telephone crisis counseling, crisis intervention and information and referrals that assist families and youth cope with their most pressing issues.

Broward 2-1-1

Broward 2-1-1 provides a 24-hour comprehensive helpline and support services for individuals in the community seeking crisis intervention assistance and/or information and referrals to health and human services in Broward County.

United Way of Miami-Dade

The United Way connects local social services and charitable organizations that support health, education and financial stability.
