Haven – Understanding Sexual Assault

As part of our ongoing commitment to promote a safe and healthy University community, FIU has launched Haven "Understanding Sexual Assault", which addresses the critical issues of sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking. Please call 305-348-2797 if you are having issues logging in or getting your password.

Part One

The first part of this program is the online training component. The estimated time to complete the program is one hour. This online course will provide you with information about issues that may affect your college years and beyond.  After completing Part 1, the enrollment hold will be removed automatically from your myFIU account within 24 hours. If the hold is still not removed after 24 hours, please call 305-348-2797.

After completing Part 1, you will enter an intersession of 30 days to immerse yourself in the campus environment and integrate your learning from the training program into your lived experiences on campus. After the intersession is over, Part 2 will be activated automatically and you will receive an email notification. Your MyFIU student portal To Do List will also be activated with a notification to complete Part 2. You will not be able to complete Part 2 until the end of the 30 day intersession.

Part Two

The second part of this program is an assessment of student attitudes towards sexual and relationship violence, norms, and student history related to these critical issues. The estimated time to complete the assessment is 15 minutes. This assessment will provide valuable feedback to improve sexual assault prevention programs at FIU.

Before you Begin

  • You will need Internet access and audio capabilities.
  • To avoid technical issues, please use any major web browser released within the previous two years.
  • You may take the course in multiple sittings.
  • The course includes surveys to help personalize your experience and measure students' attitudes and behaviors. All survey responses are confidential. FIU will only receive information about the student body as a whole and will never see individual students' answers.
  • Should you experience problems, technical support is available 24/7 and can be accessed from the "Help" link within the course.

If you have general questions or need any assistance, please contact the Dean of Students office at 305-348-2797.
