Aquatic Center

The Aquatic Center is located on the Biscayne Bay Campus, overlooking the Biscayne Bay. The Aquatic Center is furnished with lounge chairs, tables, bleachers and shade umbrellas, which provides an environment for conversation, study or sunbathing. The Aquatic Center provides Wi-Fi throughout the deck. The multipurpose design of the 50-meter by 25-yard Olympic Pool and stand-alone Diving Well allow for recreational and instructional use.

Centrally located halfway between the Miami International and Fort Lauderdale Airports, the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center is home to various age group swimming, Masters, Water Polo and Synchronized Swimming Clubs. Major production companies have also used the Wellness and Recreation Center’s Aquatic Center for a number of commercial and international movie shoots. 

The Aquatic Center is the proud Panther competition training facility for the FIU Women's Swimming and Diving Team – The three-time Conference USA Swimming and Diving Champions. 

The Aquatic Center is a premier aquatic training facility within the State of Florida and the east coast of the United States. University and club teams from across the country consider the FIU Aquatic Center their home winter training facility.  A certified Aquatic Facility Operators (AFO) manages the aquatic facility. The Aquatic Center lifeguards are Red Cross Certified in LG and WSI. 

To use the facility, a students need to use their Panther One Card at the Wellness and Recreation Center’s Membership Services Desk. Faculty, staff, alumni and the community at large may use the aquatic facility by purchasing a pass from the Wellness and Recreation Center’s Membership Services Desk. Day passes cost $7 per swimmer per day and metered parking is available for $1 per hour in visitor's parking. Use of our Aquatic Center is also included as part of the semester and annual Wellness and Recreation Center Membership privileges.
