  • What have people said about TRAC?

    James Jones

three-time NBA champion, James Jones Legacy Foundation

"At the James Jones Legacy Foundation, we take pride in providing our students with unique opportunities and challenging experiences that encourage teamwork, leadership and personal growth. The FIU ropes course provides all of that and more - and every year I'm pushing myself through right alongside the kids, just as engaged and excited as they are. It's an adventure everyone should embrace."

    Christine Martin

    FIU Graduate Assistant, Career Services

"When planning a field trip for my students, TRAC would always be one of the most popular choices. It was incredible to witness how far my students would come within the span of just a couple of hours. Many would come in fearful at the sight of the ropes course but through the concepts taught by the amazing facilitators, they were able to work successfully as a team and encourage each other to overcome their own obstacles. It was always great to see how my students got to be challenged and motivated to try things outside their comfort zone.

"Team Ropes Adventure Challenge at FIU's Biscayne Bay reminds all to trust the process...Here, a wide variety of groups, from international corporations to local youth organizations, rehab centers to masters programs discover the lessons and insights that only TRAC can teach. These lessons include, but are not limited to, the keys to better communication, trust, team bonding, leadership, personal and group satisfaction and effectiveness."

    Christine Wipfli

    FIU Applied Research Center

"The TRAC Program is a unique and exhilarating activity which supports the creation of a healthy work environment necessary for every organization to successfully meet its' goals and objectives. The TRAC Ropes Course provided an opportunity for our group to gain valuable insight about ourselves and each other, fostering personal and professional development that will last indefinitely."
  • What do I need to know?
    • All TRAC program activities are held outdoors on the course. The Ropes Course is located next to a mangrove preserve at Biscayne Bay. Although there is a sea breeze, it can be quite warm. Dress for athletic activity (e.g. t-shirts, shorts, and sturdy tennis or running shoes). You will also want to bring sun protection, such as a hat and pair of sunglasses.
    • Some activities are demanding. No one is forced to be active above what is appropriate for them. We recommend a good breakfast or lunch and being hydrated because TRAC is designed as an outdoor program.
    • We will take several breaks during the day. Please remember to drink plenty of water during all breaks so you remain properly hydrated. Water will be provided to all participants, but you are encouraged to bring an extra supply if your group is large.
  • What can I expect?
    • Improved individual and group awareness
    • Enhanced communication skills
    • Development of skills that enhance group decision making and leadership
    • Increased appreciation and respect for the differences that exist within a group
    • Improved goal setting, planning and vision
    • Strengthened commitment to team goals
